About the Center

The Center for Behavioral Health Solutions is a private psychotherapy and behavioral health consultation practice dedicated to providing practical and scientifically proven solutions for complex emotions and behaviors for children, adolescents, caregivers, and young adults.  The Center specializes in providing short-term evidenced-based treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), that have been proven to be effective through systematic research.  Treatment and consultation at the Center is individualized in order to capitalize on your strengths and support areas for growth.  A variety of methods are utilized to create and modify your specialized services, including a thorough assessment, data monitoring, and collaboration with other professionals.

The Center supports children, teens, and young adults struggling with anxiety, sadness, or behavioral outbursts, as well as their caregivers. Specific consultation is also available for caregivers experiencing parenting stress or to develop strategies to feel more confident as a caregiver. Specific behavioral health problems treated include:

Daniel M. Cheron, Ph.D., ABPP

Dr. Cheron is a licensed psychologist and is board certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Psychology and received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University, where he worked extensively researching and treating anxious children and adolescents at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD). He completed his doctoral psychology internship at the May Institute in their community-based Behavioral Health Services Division and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Judge Baker Children’s Center, where he worked on multiple grant-funded projects investigating the effectiveness of evidence-based treatments for youth with anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior, and traumatic stress in community mental health clinics.

Dr. Cheron specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and has extensive experience in the use of empirically-based interventions for disruptive behavior problems, traumatic stress, and depression in children, adolescents, and young adults. He specializes in working with children, teens, and young adults (ages 2-26) and their families, and has experience using the following evidence-based practices.

Dr. Cheron is also the Chief Psychologist and Vice President of Clinical Programs, Implementation, and Training at Judge Baker Children’s Center and an Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School. At Judge Baker, he oversees the training for hundreds of clinicians in evidence-based practices and consults on thousands of cases across the country. Dr. Cheron is the author and co-author of multiple journal articles and book chapters on treatment and training in behavioral health and he lectures nationally and internationally to other professionals, schools, and parent organizations about youth mental health. Dr. Cheron is an active member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), was the 2020 ABCT Conference Associate Chair, and regularly presents his research at annual conferences. He also serves as President-Elect of the American Board of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
